Raul's World

All about me

My name is Raúl and I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. Shortly after graduating high school I enlisted in the U.S. Army. I was trained as a "Nodal Network Systems Operator-Maintainer" but I also wore many different hats during my time in the service. Throughout my four years I was stationed in Georgia, South Korea, Fort Hood, and Kuwait. Soon after my contract ended I enrolled in college and started pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science. Since then I have been focused on navigating through the world of academia and becoming the best student I can be at UNT. Currently I am focused on learning more modern technologies and finding my place in computer science.

UNT Off-Campus Housing Web App

Full Stack

As the group leader and primary developer for a collaborative school project, I successfully designed, developed, and deployed an off-campus housing web application using AWS Elastic Beanstalk. Leveraging Node.js with Express for the server, MongoDB for database management, and EJS for seamless integration of data with HTML pages. This hands-on experience included writing front-end code in HTML and CSS, creating and managing the database with Mongoose, and overseeing the deployment process using AWS CodePipeline.
